Hunter Burkhart, PMHNP
“After years in critical care, I chose psychiatry for the opportunity to support patients beyond a single hospitalization and throughout their journey to wellness.”
Hunter is a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Novus Behavioral Health and a proud Clarksville native. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Austin Peay State University and is honored to serve the community he calls home.
Before becoming a PMHNP, Hunter spent nearly seven years in critical care nursing, primarily in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. This experience gave him a deep appreciation for the connection between mental and physical health and strengthened his commitment to compassionate, whole-person care.
Hunter believes effective treatment is built through collaboration, trust, and open communication. He is passionate about helping patients feel informed, empowered, and supported as they work toward long-term wellness.
Outside of work, Hunter enjoys spending time with his family and partner, hiking, traveling to new cities, and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants.
