"I’m here because I’ve been there."
I graduated from the University of Washington in 2005 after serving in the US Air Force as an EMT. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of healthcare settings – Primary Care, Urgent Care, Orthopedics, Nursing Homes and the Emergency Room.
In each of these specialties I saw the impact of mental health on patient’s overall health. I have come to believe mental wellness is the foundation for all wellness: physical, social, spiritual and intellectual.
I created Novus Behavioral Health in 2018 to address the lack of psychiatric resources in our community and to create a work environment that prevents health care provider burnout. I have had my own experiences in both of these areas. As a patient, I understand the importance of having a provider you can count on as well as support staff you can trust. As an employer, it is up to me to provide a workplace culture where employees can thrive so they can provide patients with . With Novus, I’ve dedicated myself to bringing the very best experience possible to our employees and to our patients.
It has been an honor to witness and evolve through the audacious resiliency of the human spirit – both personally & professionally. I am eagerly preparing Novus to transform alongside the field of psychiatry as we venture forth in exploring therapeutic alternatives to pharmaceutical medications.
In my spare time, you can find me hanging out with my kids, trying a DIY project at home, riding my trike or loading up the kayaks to absorb the grounding energy of nature and water.
